Terms for a thoughtful beginning.
In Between is still a pre-launch project. These terms describe the limited website and forms that are available today—not future accounts, matching, or community tools.
Last updated: August 24, 2026
Use this space with care for other people.
You may join the early-community interest list or send Katie a private conversation request. Neither action creates an account, publishes a story, guarantees future access, or gives anyone a right to another person's identity, location, attention, or relationship.
Where things stand today
A pre-launch interest site
In Between currently provides public editorial pages, a private Join the Community interest form, an optional email-updates choice, and a private Request a Conversation form. It is not yet a member platform. There are no public member accounts, profiles, direct messages, connection requests, public posts, or real member map listings.
Joining the early community does not guarantee an invitation, account, match, response, feature, or launch date. Requesting a conversation does not guarantee that Katie can reply or reply within a particular time.
Illustrative previews
The map dots, member previews, story previews, profiles, counts, and other demo activity identified as fictional, illustrative, example, preview, or coming soon are product concepts only. They do not represent real people, real submissions, active community participation, or current matching services.
Respectful use
Use the site and its forms honestly and respectfully. Do not use them to harass, threaten, stalk, impersonate, deceive, spam, test stolen contact details, introduce malicious code, interfere with the site, evade safety controls, or do anything unlawful.
- No one is entitled to another person's story, identity, culture, family information, location, attention, response, or relationship.
- Do not submit someone else's personal or sensitive information without their permission.
- Do not use adoptee experiences, private messages, or public stories to shame, target, identify, or pressure anyone.
Katie may decline a conversation request or limit access to the current forms when reasonably necessary to protect people or the site. Because member interaction is not live yet, In Between does not currently operate a member moderation or appeals process. Community rules, reporting, moderation, and enforcement procedures must be established before interactive member features launch.
Stories, submissions, and site content
Your story stays yours
You keep whatever rights you have in information or writing you submit. Sending a form gives In Between only the limited permission needed to receive and process it for the purpose you selected: recording community interest, responding privately, sending separately requested updates, or creating a consented broad aggregate count.
A submission is not automatically published. Public use of a story, quotation, name, photograph, or profile requires a separate, explicit permission process with the person sharing it. General, non-identifying suggestions may inform how In Between develops, but that does not transfer ownership of your story or permit it to be published.
In Between materials
Unless a page says otherwise, the In Between wordmark, visual design, original site copy, photographs, and Katie's Founder's Story belong to their respective rights holders. You may read and link to public pages for personal use, but these terms do not give permission to copy, sell, republish, or present those materials as your own. Rights and exceptions provided by law still apply.
Care, support, and emergencies
In Between and a conversation with Katie are not therapy, crisis support, medical care, legal advice, or professional counseling. Do not use either form for an emergency or rely on the site for urgent help; submissions may not be seen promptly.
Privacy, availability, and changes
Privacy
The Privacy Policy explains what the current forms collect, where information goes, how consent works, and how to request access, correction, or deletion. These terms do not replace those privacy choices.
Pre-launch changes
Katie may change, pause, or discontinue a pre-launch page, form, preview, or feature. The site may occasionally be unavailable, and no uninterrupted availability is promised. If these terms materially change, the last-updated date will change. Outside websites linked from In Between have their own terms and practices.
Governing law and disputes require a launch decision
No governing law, court location, arbitration requirement, or other dispute forum has been selected for In Between. Katie must choose an appropriate approach with qualified legal counsel before public launch rather than having these terms invent one.
Contact
Questions about these terms can currently be sent to hello@inbetweencommunity.com. Katie still needs to decide before launch whether a formal business or mailing address is required and whether this email will remain the official legal and privacy contact.
Owner decisions before launch
Before these terms are published, Katie still needs to choose the governing law and dispute approach, confirm the official contact method and any required business address, set the waitlist and private-inbox retention schedule described in the Privacy Policy, document an appropriate moderation process before any interactive community feature launches, and obtain qualified legal review of both policies.
